This past week end Mom and Dad came into town for Dyan's Graduation, pictures of that to come soon. While they were here the whole family decided to help us re-landscape our backyard. It was a lot of work but it looks great now and we don't have a backyard that looks like a dirt lot any more. Thanks to everyone that helped!

New House!!!

Our Real Estate Agent Wade Denman(Who is awesome by the way and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home in AZ) came by last night with a bottle of Martinellis and the keys to our new house! It is in East Mesa and has three bedroooms and two bathrooms. It is a corner lot with a big backyard in serious need of land scaping. We are excited to be first time homeowners and to be moving into a house that we can now kind of start our lives again in. We have kind of put a lot on hold over the past year in order to keep Cyd's house available for the family but now with Parker on his mission and Kristi moved to Thatcher for college we feel like everything has kind of come together for us to move now and start our lives again. We excited for the experience and also to have been so blessed with the ability to find a home that will fit our needs. The pictures below are of the new home. Enjoy!

Almost done...

So I walked in the graduation ceremony today for my Bachelor's degree. I officially finish the program September 7th as long as I don't fail the class I am finishing now and the course after it. The past year has been an interesting one as I just finished my Associate's degree in June of last year. I have been doubling up and taking tests to pass out of classes and credits needed to graduate. I also spent time in my AA taking courses that I knew would pass me out of certain courses in my Bachelor's program. It has been a tough couple of months but all in all it is exciting to almost be done with my Bachelor's degree. A couple more years and I hope to be done with the Master's degree as well. We will have to see how it all works out though. Thank you to anyone who have helped or supported me during this process. I especially want to thank Dyan for standing by me during the past few months and course. I know that I have not been much fun but hopefully after this is done I will be better. Love you babers!

Hiking over Memorial Day Weekend

My brother-in-law Justin likes to go hiking and geo-caching(searching for items with his GPS) and invited Dyan and I to go hiking this weekend. We decided to bring Maks and just look at the guy. He is crazy! The photo was actually photo shopped by Justin but it looks awesome. We had an awesome time hiking and spending time together. Afterwards Justin was nice enough to run with me to pick up mom and dad's new washer, dryer, and fridge. It is good to have family like Justin and Jason who are willing to drop everything to help you and your family. All in all it was a good weekend.

Working for University of Phoenix often brings up the question of whether or not I am going to school. I wanted to post a quick update and history of both Dyan and my educational background just to give a heads up for everyone. Dyan graduated from Mountain View High School and then went to Mesa Community College and finished a transfer Associates Degree in Business Accounting and then transferred over to ASU where she is finishing a degree in Accounting and Finance as double majors. If all goes well she should be finished with all her courses by December of 2009. She was almost finished with her Bachelors in Accounting when she found that with five extra classes she could double major. We talked about it and she decided to go for it. We are excited about her progress and the prospect of her graduating in December. I graduated from Westwood High School and after taking a month and a half off of school started the two year mission for our church and was called to Guatemala. After that I started working with University of Phoenix and attending Axia College to receive an Associates degree in Health Administration. I finished the AA in June of 2008 and am now in the process of finishing my Bachelors in Health Administration from University of Phoenix by September of 2009. It has been an interesting road and we have both actually been together since Dyan started at ASU and through the end of my Associates and now through my Bachelors. We are both looking at what educational paths might lie ahead of us. Dyan is still thinking about whether or not she will be pursuing a Master's degree and I am planning on starting my MBA in January of 2010. We will see what the future hold for us educationally as well as in our family and personal life.

Big move for Mom and Dad

We got some interesting news a couple weeks ago that my dad is going to be transferred by the end of May. My parents have always planned on heading out east to finish his career with CES but they got a call from Salt Lake and I guess it just wasn't in the cards. They are actually being transferred to San Luis Obispo, CA. Anyone who knows my mom though is very aware that she is going to be in heaven about 20 minutes from the beach and of course dad is excited because he gets to work with kids and not be in some stuffy office some where. Dyan and I took the news a little hard as it has just been about a year since we lost Dyan's mom and the news that our only other parents were moving out of state was a little hard. I think it was probably harder as well since we have been talking more and more about when we want to start our family and having mom and dad Abbott close by was always kind of the plan. I learned in the MTC that no growth can happen inside your comfort zone and I have come to see this as the Lord booting me out of my comfort zone once again. The blessings that will come from this transfer though will be something amazing I am sure. Plus we have talked about it and everyone we ask have said that San Luis Obispo is possibly the most beautiful part of California. We are excited to have some place to vacation now with out having to pay for a hotel and with a knowledge that my dad and mom will not point us wrong when it comes to places to see and eat. I don't think that you could ask for a better pair of vacation guides. Till May I guess we will have Dad and Mom might be around till the house sells so no big changes just yet.
